The Engineering R&D class will be centered on applying the engineering design process to solve problems and make cool stuff. This will be a hands-on course where the students will explore fabrication techniques and principles of engineering through various projects. Students will develop professional design skills including documentation, review, and presentation. Over the course of the semester-long project, students will learn about material selection, strength of materials, and various mechanisms.
Beginning this course online will provide students with an opportunity to draw inspiration from their immediate home environments. Projects will be constructed with improvised materials and potentially beta tested on family members! No prior engineering experience is required.
